Some great discs are being released this week. Check out these new movies and shows: The Goldbergs: Season 2 [review] - the performances and comedy are strong in this season of the hilarious, yet warm-hearted series powered by ‘80s nostalgia; The Epic of Everest [review] - this documentary from 1924 favors discovery and exploration over manufactured drama and crippling failure and is an accessible and entertaining slice of film history; and The Hee Haw Collection [review] - the magic formula of intentionally dumb jokes and great country music made this show a long-running TV institution and this set of five hour-long episodes offers a nice primer for the casually curious.
