New Reviews: The Manchurian Candidate, Brooklyn, and The Serpent and the Rainbow
Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD
Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include:
The Manchurian Candidate - a true classic of suspense featuring great performances and awesome cinematography and Criterion's Blu-ray release is very strong, offering up quite an improvement over the MGM Blu-ray release of the film, alongside a great selection of extra features; Brooklyn - this emotional but unsentimental tale of an Irish lass making big decisions features a breakout performance by Saoirse Ronan; and The Serpent and the Rainbow - an involving project from the late horror icon Wes Craven.... Bill Pullman plays an ethnobotanist searching for a zombie-making drug in Haiti amid a political revolution.
