New Reviews: The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Daughter of Dawn, and Maurice Pialat
The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD Talk Review Database recently including: The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) - Hammer Films' quite good 1959 film adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel adds a layer of Gothic horror atmosphere to its retelling and features Hammer superstars Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in two major roles; The Daughter of Dawn - Norbert Myle's restored silent Western from 1920 recounts a love triangle between Indigenous people from the Kiowa and Comanche tribes of the Southern Plains and is most notable for being the only film with an all Native American cast; and Under the Sun of Satan (The Films of Maurice Pialat: Volume 2) - based on a novel by Georges Bernanos, this is Pialat's only film to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
