New Reviews: Taxi Driver, Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, and The Goodbye Girl
Some cool discs have been reviewed over the past week. Check out these recent entries:
Taxi Driver - Martin Scorsese's movie is a rough, ugly, uncomfortable film, but it's wonderfully acted, beautifully constructed and entrancing to watch; Akira Kurosawa's Dreams: Criterion Collection - a great film from the famed director, it is bursting with color and imagination, it's the kind of film where almost every dollar of its budget has made it to the screen; and The Goodbye Girl - proof that it's the execution, and not the premise, that matters when it comes to putting together a piece of entertainment that's excellent, rings true, and doesn't condescend to its audience.
