Notable Releases: Silence, Blow-Up, and 20th Century Women
Several great movies and programs have come out recently, including a few that shouldn't be missed:
Silence (2016) - Martin Scorsese's film is a complex, impressive drama about Jesuit priests who travel to 17th Century Japan to find their mentor and spread the gospel at great personal risk; Blow-Up - surreal, often methodical and gorgeously filmed, this movie is undoubtedly the work of a master artist, complete with a vagueness that leaves it open for interpretation; and 20th Century Women - a thoughtful, entertaining, and nostalgic look at the changing times of the 1970's.
