Notable Releases: Re-Animator, Night Moves, and Meantime
There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases:
Re-Animator - Stuart Gordon's movie is a fun, feverish, and frightening directorial debut that's aged extremely well during the last 30+ years thanks to its charming B-movie roots, excellent production values, and gallons of grossly effective gore; Night Moves - this film includes everything that's great about ‘80s movies - a wonderfully uncomplicated bit of fun with a cast of likeable characters that's powered by obvious heart and an excellent soundtrack; and Meantime: Criterion Collection - produced by Britain's public service Channel 4, this movie blindsided viewers with a stark, unflinching look at two families in London's East End during a recession.
