Notable Releases: Re-Animator, Night Moves, and Meantime
Re-Animator There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Re-Animator - Stuart Gordon's movie is a fun, feverish, and frightening directorial debut that's aged extremely well during the last 30+ years thanks to its charming B-movie roots, excellent production values, and gallons of grossly effective gore; Night Moves - this film includes everything that's great about ‘80s movies - a wonderfully uncomplicated bit of fun with a cast of likeable characters that's powered by obvious heart and an excellent soundtrack; and Meantime: Criterion Collection - produced by Britain's public service Channel 4, this movie blindsided viewers with a stark, unflinching look at two families in London's East End during a recession. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: Boss Baby, My Favorite Brunette, and Frantz
Boss Baby Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include: Boss Baby - there's enough style and creativity in the animation and enough of an effort in Alec Baldwin's performance to make this animated film a more enjoyable experience than you might expect; My Favorite Brunette - a Bob Hope comedy that still holds up to entertain young and older audiences alike... a very funny spoof of the film noir/hard-boiled detective genre and it’s perfectly suited for Hope's brand of humor; and Frantz - a foreign film that deserves much more than a simple label… there is just enough drama, just enough romance, just a hint of mystery, that audiences are sucked into this world, but never so much that we feel drowned. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
