Some pretty cool discs have made their way to store shelves over the past couple of weeks. Check out these new titles: Matinee - John Goodman shines in the lead and the supporting cast also does great work in this Joe Dante film is a love letter to late fifties/early sixties B-movies and the often times quirky characters that brought them to us; The Sword and the Claw - this disc includes a second film, The Brawl Busters, and both features are enjoyable on their own terms, incredible even, and nearly indescribable, a perfect double-bill for a Saturday night with a gaggle of receptive friends; and My Neighbors the Yamadas - a decidedly different adventure from Studio Ghibli, it is a light and enjoyable diversion that kids of all ages should enjoy.
