ET - Going Going Gone!
Many companies throw around the term 'Limited Edition' so willy nilly it's hard to know when they really mean it. Well we got word from a Best Buy Manager that on December 31st they are pulling the copies of ET OFF THE SHELVES. We also visited several other local stores (ie Borders, Suncoast) and found that they were already OUT of the Widescreen edition. So if you're planning on picking up ET - The Extra Terrestrial we STRONGLY advise you to place your order before December 31st! DeepDiscountDVD has a fantastic deal on ET - The Extra Terrestrial: $20.89 with free shipping. Don't kick yourself for missing out on getting this DVD before it's gone.

This Week's Notable DVDs
It seems a little strange that studios would release such notable titles on the last day of 2002 but we're not complaining. One of the most fun movies of 2002 xXx [Review] makes its way on to DVD and it's nice to see this movie with the subwoofer cranked wayyyy up. MGM's got the fun and charming Barbershop [Review] of course it includes stuff 'cut' from the move. Dennis Leary fans should be sure not to miss Double Whammy as well as check out our interview with Director Tom DiCillo. Star Trek Next Gen fans this week get to bid the series another farewell as Star Trek: Next Generation Season 7 [Review] bows on DVD. Thanks to Columbia Tri-Star Sylvester Stallone fans now get to see Eye See You (aka D-Tox) which received European Theatrical release but was not unspooled in US Theaters. Takashi Miike fans have another DVD to check out as City of Lost Souls [Review] is released. And if you're looking for something for the kids to watch Paramount wants to remind you that Hey Arnold the Movie is released this week. Happy New Year!

Jean Reno + Luc Besson = :)
Here at DVD Talk we're huge fans of Jean Reno, so we were excited to hear that the French film Wasabi was finding a US DVD release on February 11, 2003. Written by Luc Besson Wasabi is presented in Widescreen (enhanced for 16x9 Tvs) with French 5.1 Dolby Digital and English Dolby Surround Audio. Unfortunately there aren't any special features but the combo of a Luc Besson script and Jean Reno should be TONS of fun. Watch the Wasabi Trailer and thenPre-Order the Wasabi DVD.

This Week's 'Notable' DVDs
Unfortunately this week's notable DVDs are, for the most part, notable for being notably bad including the universally panned Adventures of Pluto Nash [Review] a mess of a film which even curious renters will regret picking up, Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever an action film gone horribly wrong, so much so that 2 of our reviewers BOTH said 'skip it' [Review 1 & 2]. Filed under the 'not so bad considering what's out this week' is the semi-anemic thriller Blood Work [Review] which isn't bad, but won't excite even the most avid Clint Eastwood Fan, and while we didn't get the DVD to review, we did catch Door to Door when it aired on TNT and while flawed does feature a stand out performance by William H. Macy. If you're unenthused with this week's notable DVDs never fear, next week is PACKED with some really great titles!

Send the 2 discs with your Name, Address, Phone, and the reason you're returning it to: Back to the Future DVD Returns, PO Box 224468 Dallas, Texas 75260.
