DVD Savant: Night Passage, American Family and More
This week the DVD Savant takes a look at Home Vision's French farce called Drôle de drame a convoluted comedy of manners set in 1900 London; Universal's Night Passage a grade AAA deluxe Western, with terrific landscapes, and a good story; Fox's American Family: The First Season, a multigenerational comedy-drama that shapes up as a good Latino soap; MGM's explosively colorful disc of Julien Temple's Absolute Beginners, a musical that defies description; and from Paramount, Arthur Penn's near-perfect Little Big Man, the adventures of Jack Crabb. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

The Aisle View: The Shape of Things
This week in The Aisle View Geoff Kleinman takes a look at Neil LaBute's film adaptation of his stage play The Shape of Things with Rachel Weisz, Paul Rudd and Gretchen Mol. The Shape of Things might be considered LaBute "Light" as it lacks the brutal punch of many of LaButes other films - In The Company of Men and Your Friends and Neighbors (both of which can be found on DVD). Read the complete review of The Shape of Things in this week's The Aisle View and find out if it's worth checking out.
