DVD Savant: Wings of Desire, The Singing Detective and More
This week the DVD Savant takes a look MGM's Wings of Desire - the catch of the week, a beautiful DVD of a fantasy favorite that still dazzles. Criterion's Hiroshima mon amour a benchmark French-Japanese co-production by Alain Resnais'. Criterion also does a fine job with Ermanno Olmi's I fidanzati a mature study of people uprooted in the 'new industrial Italy' of the early 60s, Anchor Bay's Roadgames, a suspense thriller that's too good to be lumped in with other early 80s slasher pix, BBC's The Singing Detective is a fascinating 4 hour miniseries that combines medical misery, detective thrills, traumatic biography, and musical numbers in a complex tale of self-analysis. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

The Aisle View: T3 and Legally Blonde 2
The follow up to one of the greatest action movies of all time succeeds by not trying to out-do it's predecessor. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is an entertaining, action-packed sequel and doesn't disappoint. Check out the full review in this week's The Aisle View. Another film out this week is Legally Blonde 2: Red White and Blonde. Read why this film made Aisle View critic Megan Denny physically ill. Also, don't miss The Aisle View's take on recently released Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and 28 Days Later.Want to get The Aisle View right when it's published?
