The Aisle View: Cat In The Hat, Timeline and Bad Santa
In this week's The Aisle View, reviewer Megan Denny pines for films from her childhood after watching the lackluster live-action The Cat in the Hat and answers the all important question: will kids like it?. Also this week The Aisle View takes a look at the latest Michael Crichton book to be made into a film: Timeline - find out how this screenplay like book translates onto the screen. Finally, for everyone who secretly (or not so secretly) hates the holidays Bad Santa is a lump of coal (in a good way) that Disney is up in arms about (yep Miramax released it) and will be a surefire holiday classic...so long as you hate the holidays. What Have I Done to Deserve This? - Pedro Almodóvar gives us the ultimate dysfunctional family, The Serpent and the Rainbow - Wes Craven's most worthwhile horror effort is a classy trip into terror via Hatian voodoo, The Solid Gold Cadillac - Judy Holliday shines in this early critique of corporate chicanery and Looney Tunes Premiere Collection - 28 of Termite Terrace's finest, this splinter collection of cartoons is a good cross-section of Warners fun.
