New Movie Reviews: Darjeeling Limited, Kingdom, and Game Plan
Critical darling Wes Anderson returns to the director's chair with The Darjeeling Limited - a film with a plot that had been ensconced in mystery until the film premiered, earlier this month, at the Venice Film Festival. Along for the artsy ride this time around is Adrien Brody as he joined by Anderson regulars Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson. The Darjeeling Limited finds enlightenment in theaters this weekend. Also in theaters this week is The Kingdom - Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, and Chris Cooper star in this Peter Berg war drama; The Game Plan - isn't it funny how The Rock never uses his real name (Dwayne Johnson) on the obviously craptastic flicks?; and Feast of Love - Morgan Freeman and Radha Mitchell star in this Robert Benton romance film. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Into the Wild, The Trade, Jane Austen Book Club, Good Luck Chuck, Across the Universe, In the Valley of Elah, Resident Evil: Extinction, Transformers: The IMAX Experience, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Sydney White, Eastern Promises. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.

Griffith was involved in both halves: True Heart Susie with Hoodoo Ann. Next up is the classic haunted house film, The Cat and the Canary. Directed by Paul Leni, this films influence is still being felt today. Finally we have a look at the 1925 version of The Lost World. Is the often discussed but rarely seen Eastman House restoration finally available on DVD? It looks like it could be. In case you missed them, be sure to check out recent Silent DVD columns: Reel Baseball and the 2007 SF Silent Film Festival, The General, Romance of the Western Chamber and Pandora's Box.
