TV Reviews: Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Channel Zero: Candle Cove
TV on DVD and Blu-ray remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include:
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Final Chapters - an enjoyable victory lap for one of the franchise's best animated installments to date… featuring four multi-part, stand-alone story arcs with different stakes, characters, tones, and locales, there's a lot to like here and Channel Zero: Candle Cove - the premiere season of Syfy's take on the horror anthology concept is hampered by overly exaggerated supernatural drama and thrills.

Notable Releases: Election, The Trip To Spain, and General Idi Amin Dada
There are a few new releases that you won't want to miss. Check out these hot titles:
Election - nothing is perfect, but this movie gets real close, finding the right match between setting and theme, giving a top-notch line-up in front of and behind the camera the opportunity to truly shine, with Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick creating an iconic screen pairing; The Trip To Spain - the third film in Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s Trip series, but the beauty of these films lies in that you can start with any one of them because the setup is easy and you’ll laugh and enjoy the 90 minute journeys each time; and General Idi Amin Dada: A Self-Portrait - Criterion Collection - Barbet Schroeder's film is a fascinating slice of cinema, offering a rare look behind the curtain at one of the 20th century's greatest villains.

New Reviews: The Sissi Collection, Sword and the Claw, and Wild Bill
Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD
Talk Review Database recently including:
The Sissi Collection - based very loosely on the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the films are lightly heightened romantic fantasy, starring Romy Schneider as the title character, who works her way through political and social conflicts; The Sword and the Claw - this first Blu-ray release from the American Genre Film Archive is a wild-and-wooly example of "Turksploitation," and it is paired with a lively South Korean martial arts film, The Brawl Busters; and Wild Bill - an odd film, but an effective one, diving into the memories of an infamous gunfighter with an unusual sincerity, brought to life by a strong script by director Walter Hill and an impressive performance by Jeff Bridges.
