New Reviews: Dario Argento's Opera, Shock Wave, and Tom Jones
Dario Argento's Opera Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include: Dario Argento's Opera - boasting a spectacular restoration and the original audio, plus a 5.1 remix and two recent interviews to boot, this is a nice little package that is sure to satisfy; Shock Wave - a memorably off-kilter action extravaganza that will satisfy and surprise adrenaline junkies in equal measure; and Tom Jones - Criterion's new Blu-ray features both the 121-minute 1989 director's cut and the original 1963 theatrical version. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

Notable Releases: The Thomas Crown Affair, The Diabolical Dr. Z, and Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend
The Thomas Crown Affair (50th Anniversary Edition) There are a few new releases that you won't want to miss. Check out these hot titles: The Thomas Crown Affair (50th Anniversary Edition) - Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway are ceaselessly cool in this film, a breezy, stylish celebration of its stars… Norman Jewison's movie is not as dramatically affecting as others released in 1968 but it is consistently entertaining; The Diabolical Dr. Z - enormous fun and a good way to ease into director Jess Franco's oeuvre; and Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend - William Katt and Sean Young star as a couple of do-gooders hoping to save a baby brontosaurus from the evils of the world. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

Movies in Theaters: Black Panther, Phantom Thread, and Fifty Shades Freed
Black Panther Before you head off to the cinema this week, check out DVD Talk's reviews of the latest releases including: Black Panther - part origin story, part new adventure, a fresh take on the genre, with a cast that will knock your socks off; Phantom Thread - a good movie, a fun mix of Brit Lit canon and ill-fated love comedy played with striking performances from its stars; and Fifty Shades Freed - the acting goes from bad to worse, the side characters are ridiculous/pointless beyond compare, and if you were to write this entire plot down and read it to yourself aloud, you might actually fall over dead from sheer embarrassment. Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.
