Movies in Theaters: Ready Player One, Rampage, and A Quiet Place
Ready Player One Planning a trip to the local multiplex this week? Here are DVD Talk's reviews of the latest theatrical releases: Ready Player One - Steven Spielberg's latest pays homage to the 80's laying badass fictional characters and cars and games and music at your feet until you're ready to worship whoever it was that brought it all to you; Rampage - a terribly simple and ridiculous plot filled with some of the worst dialogue you'll ever hear, but it's also full of goofy moments and pure mayhem that make the experience of watching worth the time; and A Quiet Place - fairly frightening, the tiniest bit gruesome, but nothing like the monster movie model you might immediately imagine... it takes the fear to another level, to a place that's much more personal. Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.

TV Reviews: The Outer Limits, Laugh-In, and PAW Patrol
The Outer Limits: Season One TV on DVD and Blu-ray remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include: The Outer Limits: Season One - Kino's Blu-ray treatment is objectively great: featuring top-tier restoration work that rivals classic Star Trek and The Twilight Zone, substantially improved audio mixes, and nearly two dozen audio commentaries from enthusiastic participants; Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In: The Complete Second Season - an odd mix of old-fashioned and new-fangled, silly and smart, broad and pinpoint accurate… there are still plenty of laughs to be gleaned from this season; and PAW Patrol: Sea Patrol - still going strong after more than four years… it's been a consistently fun and entertaining show: colorful and action-packed with great characters, this series is more enjoyable than its simple, unchanging formula implies. Recent Notable Releases: Justice League, King of Jazz, and Push
Justice League There are a few new releases that you won't want to miss. Check out these hot titles: Justice League - this film just goes through the motions… you see everything coming a mile away, and nothing; not the script, nor the ensemble's execution, makes it interesting; King of Jazz - chockfull of great music, ambitious special effects, stunning production design and costumes, superb two-strip Technicolor cinematography, some amazing specialty acts, and from a historical standpoint it's unquestionably priceless; and Push (4K UHD) - it's a welcomed change to see superpowered battles royale without capes or cowls… these aren't superheroes with their chests puffed out; just otherwise ordinary people trying to eke out a quiet life for themselves. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: The Awful Truth, Basket Case, and Frank Serpico
The Awful Truth Some cool discs have been reviewed over the past week. Check out these recent entries: The Awful Truth - a true gem and early career highlight for Cary Grant and Irene Dunn, Leo McCarey's film stands tall as one of the best examples of screwball comedy done exactly right; Basket Case - Arrow Video once again knocks it out of the park when it comes to their releases of important cult films, with a stellar A/V presentation and an overabundance of extras; and Frank Serpico - this documentary looks at the real-life cop who Al Pacino and Sidney Lumet made famous in their 1973 film that bears his name. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
