Final Destination 2: Infinifilm

Other
Behind the Scenes
Posted by Behind the Scenes Derrick Veurink on December 26, 2004 | 4.0 / 5
The New Line Infinifilm DVD series allows viewers to access supplemental material during the presentation of the movie. In most cases, these branching segments rehash documentaries, featurettes, and deleted scenes that are accessible separately in the special features menu. However, with “Final Destination 2,” the DVD producers also added an extensive amount of material that is only accessible through the Infinifilm system; that is, you will not find these in the special features menu. This content includes screen tests for virtually every cast member, some VFX deconstructions, and a gag reel based upon the first film’s most memorable death scene. The total runtime of this exclusive material is nearly 30 minutes. For the purposes of easy access (and to get the most out of your DVD), all the Infinifilm-exclusive featurettes are listed below. To access them, activate the disc’s Infinifilm option and play the movie. Navigate to the chapters given below, and select the menu options listed below. (The running times of each featurette have also been provided.) Chapter 2: “Take a look at A.J. Cook’s screen test. (1:04)” Chapter 3: “Gain insight into the David and Tawny Ellis partnership. (1:14)” Chapter 4: “View Sarah Carter’s screen test. (:51)” Chapter 5: “Catch a glimpse of Keegan Connor Tracy’s screen test. (1:13)” Chapter 6: “Learn how to visualize the art of highway mayhem. (1:34)” Chapter 9: “Learn the art of car cannon choreography. (1:02)” Chapter 11: “Find out about David Ellis’ secret weapon. (:52)” Chapter 13: “Take a look at T.C. Carson’s screen test. (1:14)” Chapter 14: “See David Paetkau’s screen test. (:32)” Chapter 17: “Discover why Alex Browning did not live to see FD2. (1:43)” Chapter 19: “Learn about death designs cheated out of FD2. (:48)” Chapter 21: “See how VFX specialists created Kimberly’s pigeon vision. (:51)” Chapter 22: “See James Kirk’s screen test. (:33)” Chapter 24: “See how nitrous VFX are brought to life. (:32)” Chapter 26: “Expose good dummies gone bad. (1:04)” Chapter 27: “Toe-tag your way into the morgue with Tony Todd. (1:09)” Chapter 29: “Get an angle on Officer Burke’s bachelor pad. (1:19)” Chapter 32: “Take a peek at Jonathan Cherry’s screen test. (1:17)” Chapter 33: “See the VFX bus gag. (3:09)” Chapter 34: “Take a peek at Justina Machado’s screen test. (:23)” Chapter 35: “Learn how to drive PVC through an SUV. (:48)” Chapter 36: “See how mother nature poured on the pressure. (1:15)” Chapter 39: “Peer into the process that cast Michael Landes. (1:01)” Chapter 41: “Check into Lakeview Hospital. (:58)” Chapter 42: “Learn how the VFX team imagined Kimberly’s visions. (1:14)” As with many New Line titles, the DVD credits for this disc can be accessed by clicking on the New Line logo (in this case, the Infinifilm logo) on the main menu.
