The Movie

I know so much about Playboy TV, I had to Google it. Apparently, Playboy TV is a pay-per-view channel that is available on cable and satellite television services. It is owned by Playboy and features content that is more explicit than the regular pictorial sets their playmates pose for. It is unlike any other Playboy video I have reviewed (2005 Video Playmate Calendar, America's Sexist Bartenders, 2006 Playmate of the Year: Kara Monaco, Meth and Red: How to Throw a Party at the Playboy Mansion, The Ultimate Jenny McCarthy, Girls of Hooters, Girls of McDonald's, Women of Starbucks, Women of Wal-Mart, Women of Retail, and Celebrity Centerfolds.)

Girls of Playboy TV focuses on various Playboy TV productions that are more explicit and hardcore than their regular stuff with naked girls posing. The content shown on Playboy TV (from what I have seen in this semi-documentary) is hardcore, explicit sex-induced stuff. And when I say hardcore, they show naked girls kissing each other on the mouth and other areas, as well as inanimate objects going places you don't normally see on TV. In general, Girls of Playboy TV is just a lot nastier. But it is also at the same time a lot like their traditional playmate pictorial videos that have girls talking about their likes and dislikes while posing for the camera, as well as their experiences.

The feature's content provides a behind the scenes look at the adult stars that perform in the Playboy TV productions. It includes filming, makeup, wardrobe, photo shoots, and clips from actual productions. The girls provide candid interviews to talk about their experiences in Playboy TV and the adult industry, share different aspects of their personalities (mostly pretty raunchy aspects), and other such things that are common to Playboy's documentaries-with-naked-girls.

The feature runs for an hour. The girls who are credited in this feature include Jesse Jane, Anikia Knudsen, AnnMarie, Sativa Rose, Andrea Lowell, Nautica Thorn, Charmane Star, Jelena Jensen, Kirsten Price, Mary Carey, Ashley Blue, Sunny Lane, Nadia Styles, Brittany Skye, and Charlie Lane.

Overall, I was not too impressed with this DVD. I suppose if you have an interest in Playboy TV productions (I don't) then learning more about the girls who are featured in their productions might be of interest. I personally found there to be very little that was even remotely intriguing about their experiences with Playboy TV, having sex for a career, and so on. The fact of the matter is that there is little material in this documentary-with-naked-girls to keep your interest.

The DVD

Video:
The video is given in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color. The quality is pretty good with a clean picture and rich colors. However, there are portions with slight grain and noticeable ghosting. However, there are segments where previously captured footage is used and the quality varies.

Audio:
The audio is given in 2.0 Dolby digital stereo sound. The sound quality is good, except it offers very little distinction in separation between channels. There is a lot of spoken dialogue, most of which occurs concurrently with background music. Both are quite easy to hear.

Extras:
There are no extras included with this release.

Final Thoughts:
Girls of Playboy TV follows the common format from the Girls of... series, but it goes a step further in raunchiness than the normal pictorial features. Instead of girls who provide interviews while taking off their clothes, Girls of Playboy TV features more explicit content with girls from the adult industry who talk about their experiences while fairly explicit footage is shown. I found that what the girls had to say was less the interesting. I had to force myself to listen. In short, skip it.
