The Movie

Final Contract: Death on Delivery is a German action movie. It has American actor Drew Fuller, who is best known for his role in Charmed. To say the least, Fuller being the biggest name for the film does not bode well. And the fact of the matter is that the movie does not do well at all. It has a horrendous combination of poor acting, uninteresting characters, a lackluster storyline, and predictable plotline. In short, Final Contract: Death on Delivery is as bad as they get.

Drew Fuller plays David, an unlikely hero. David is an American who has come to Germany to work at his uncle's delivery company. His uncle does not think much of him, but gave him a chance because he is family. The real problem with David is that he just doesn't get it. He drives recklessly and does not take his work seriously. The good news for David is that his wild driving habits will serve him well when he unexpectedly becomes a hero.

In the opening of the movie, David rushes to deliver a special automotive part to a client. The client is very happy to get the part in time to finish his work. On the flipside, David returns to the shipping depot and finds an angry uncle. Apparently, David has racked up over five-hundred dollars worth of tickets. In order to make up for it, he sentences David to work the night shift. Working an extra shift is the last thing David wants to do.

Today happens to be a special day. It is the last day for female co-worker Jenny (Tanja Wenzel). Jenny is someone very special to David. He has had a huge crush on her and wants to ask her out. She also has feelings for him, but he is too shy to ask her out. So, she asks him out on a date. David has intends on making the date, but is unable to do so. While finishing his deliveries, he is caught in the middle of a high speed car chase and firefight.

An attractive woman named Lara (Alison King) is being chased by several men. She claims to be an undercover police officer who has several bad guys out to get her. After the initial shock of being shot at and nearly dying, David agrees to help Lara get to safety. He also helps her get her a hotel room. When in the room, Lara unleashes her womanly wiles and seduces the young man. David forgets about his date with Jenny.

In the morning, David awakes to find Lara gone. He grabs his things and heads out of the room to find police detectives Hillman (Ken Bones) and Strasser (Sam Douglas) waiting for him with a tactical squad. Their investigation has led them to the hotel and David is their primary suspect. At this point, David realizes he has been setup. Lara is a bad person and David has to turn the tables, help the police catch the real killer, and patch things up with Jenny.

As far as movies go, Final Contract: Death on Delivery has a myriad of issues. The acting performances are pretty bland. Fuller provides a decent role as the lead character, but it is far from outstanding. The remainder of the cast fails to provide even average performances. The leading females King and Wenzel are simply horrible. King makes for an unconvincing villain who dresses like she is in Dead or Alive and Jenny is an awfully poor choice for a heroine/love interest.

The writing is also pretty bad. The storyline is a case of the wrong place, wrong time with a mix of save the world, get the girl. The writers also tried to incorporate comedy throughout the film by giving the characters pseudo-witty dialogue. The attempt is poor and makes the movie feel even less appealing. The action and special effects were nothing to get excited about. It felt somewhat low-grade and uninspiring.

Overall, Final Contract: Death on Delivery is a horrid movie. It starts off slowly and jumps into a fast-paced action sequence. As it continues, it is hard to keep interest, as the characters and the writing offer little. By the end, you won't care if the bad or good guys come out on top.

The DVD

Video:
The video is given in 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color. The picture quality is average with noticeable visual defects. There is a heavy grain, ghosting during the quick-motion scenes, and the picture is not always very clear. Overall, it is not the best looking picture, but it is still viewable.

Audio:
The audio is given in English 2-channel Dolby digital mono. The sound quality is on par with the video. The audio track deliveries dialogue that is easy to hear (for the most part). There are a few times when the sound effects overpower the dialogue.

Extras:
There are no extras included with this DVD release.

Final Thoughts:
Final Contract: Death on Delivery is a German movie about a young American stumbling into the wild life of crime. He befriends a woman who turns out to be a hired killer. He gets framed for her actions and he must race against time to clear his name and impress the woman he loves. All in the all, the movie has little appeal and is not worth your time.
