Since i've become the de facto WWE reviewer on the site (a title I don't mind one bit), I decided to select the three sight unseen (believe it or not, it can become a chore at times..). Imagine my surprise, after opening the screener shipment, to discover that Backlash featured a match with Chris Benoit. Now, this wasn't his final PPV appearance (that would be Judgment Day), but a wave of melancholy came over me as I watched him put on a great match with MVP...Read the entire review

A two hour documentary on disc one, covers his early days in Southwest Championship Wrestling to AWA to his final stop, the WWE, as well as most, if not all, of the bases of Shawn's life, both personal and professional. Some promos, stories and deleted scenes round out the content on the first disc, while disc two treats viewers to eight matches, three of them for promotions other than WWE. Not the individual matches before the Rumble, but the Rumble itself. In case you don't know, it works like this: two men enter the ring and every two minutes thereafter, another wrestler enters the ring to join the melee. It's simple, I know, but I'm a mark for the unpredictability of not knowing which wrestler will be heading to the ring once the two minutes are up, combined with the possibility of setting up new feuds and storylines. That's not to say the writers always succeed in accomplishing these goals, but when they do, it's pretty damn cool. Anyways, this 5-disc set collects the first five Royal Rumble events, each on a separate disc, and watching them was an enjoyable trip down memory lane.

<span ...Read the entire review

Well, here we are, almost a year and a half later, and it resembles some of the worst of WWE and is a pale imitation of what ECW used to be. It also took place at the James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia on December 3rd, 2006.
