New Movie Reviews: Hollywoodland, Protector, and Covenant
Ben Affleck makes his triumphant return to the big screen this week in Allen Coulter's dark drama Hollywoodland. Boasting an incredibly strong cast including Affleck, Diane Lane, and Adrien Brody, Hollywoodland gets the jump on this year's L.A. whodunits by beating Brian De Palma's The Black Dahlia into theaters by one week. Also in theaters this week is The Protector - Tony Jaa's second U.S. effort is the next film in the Quentin Tarantino Presents... line; The Covenant - the film that proves Renny Harlin can still get work in Hollywood, even after directing Exorcist: The Beginning; and Idiocracy - Mike Judge's latest offering sends Luke Wilson 1,000 years into to the future where he finds he's the smartest person around. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Aurora Borealis, Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles, The Wicker Man, Crank, This Film Is Not Yet Rated, The Quiet, Lassie, Crossover, Trust the Man, Invincible, Beerfest, How To Eat Fried Worms, Bandidas, Snakes on a Plane. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
