New DVD Reviews: The Proposition, Body Double and Grease
Now with over 16,900 DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: The Proposition Drenched in blood, sweat and hot dust this is a film that echoes the feeling of classic westerns and it's one of 2006's greatest (and maybe goriest) works; Dark Waters - an atmospheric and creepy horror film that deserves to find a wider audience and No Shame's stellar two disc collector's edition release might just make that happen; United 93 - it's certainly a tough film to sit through, but this chilling film is a fitting tribute to what happened five years ago; Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World- though it's not as insightful and honest nor as consistently funny as Brooks' best films it still has its moments; Body Double: SE - an upgraded disc of Brian DePalma from his days as a certified '70s maverick; Kill Your Idols- a strangely satisfying experience; Shock Treatment - if you can resist trying to compare it to The Rocky Horror Picture Show you'll find yourself enjoying a funny and intelligent musical comedy with some great songs and quirky characters; Grease: Rockin' Rydell Edition - if you wanted more Grease than you got in the first DVD, it's worth replacing your old platter with this new one.
