With over 20K DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: The Lookout - muscular and suspenseful, character-driven and poignant with first-rate writing and performances that make it one of the best films of the year; The Search for John Gissing - a solid 90 minutes of fun, especially Rickman, who is simply a wonderful bad guy and an underrated comic actor; The Shakespeare Collection - is simply the gold standard of Shakespeare sets now available, easily comparable to Criterion's releases of the Olivier films; Popeye the Sailor: 1933-1938, Vol. 1 - sixty cartoons, representing five years of hilarity and some of the best that early animation has to offer.
