New Movie Reviews: Nanny Diaries, Mr. Bean's Holiday, and Last Legion
It seems strange that the filmmaking team behind the excellent American Splendor chose to follow that film with The Nanny Diaries, but maybe they have aspirations of raising the film above its fluffy chick-lit-novel origins. Either way, the stunning and talented Scarlett Johansson stars in what is sure to be a hit based on the success of the book alone. The Nanny Diaries babysits your kids in theaters everywhere this weekend. Also in theaters this week is Mr. Bean's Holiday - people, apparently, still love Rowan Atkinson's 'Mr. Bean' character because he's back in theaters 10 years after the last 'Bean' film; The Last Legion - Colin Firth, Aishwarya Rai, and Ben Kingsley star in this surprisingly adventure flick; and Resurrecting the Champ - Rod Lurie directs Sam Jackson and Josh Hartnett in this moving film about a homeless man who thinks he's a former boxing champ. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: The Hottest State, September Dawn, Superbad, The Invasion, The Shark is Still Working: The Impact and Legacy of Jaws, Death at a Funeral, Manda Bala (Send a Bullet), Skinwalkers, No End in Sight, Rush Hour 3, Stardust. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
