Book Talk - The Twilight Zone and Ishiro Honda
This month DVDTalk reviewer Stuart Galbraith IV takes over our Book Talk column with his take on a pair of interesting books. The first is The Twilight Zone - Unlocking the Door to a Television Classic by Martin Grams, Jr., an utterly indispensable 800-page reference to Rod Serling's classic 1959-1964 anthology series. Following that is a review of Mushroom Clouds and Mushroom Men - The Fantastic Cinema of Ishiro Honda by Peter H. Brothers. Brother's offering is a film-by-film guide to the Japanese director's (who collaborated with Akira Kurosawa later in life) 25 fantasy features, preceded by an approximately 60-page overview of Honda's life and career. Check out the previous installments to read reviews of Stuart's own book on Japanese Cinema, biographies of silent star Eyelyn Brent and director King Vidor, and much more!
