This Week's Notable DVDs: Winter's Bone, Paths of Glory, and Searchers 2.0
Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as: Winter's Bone [Blu-ray review] - a highly recommended film that has a frightening, yet crookedly poetic realism; Paths of Glory - Criterion Collection [Blu-ray review]- Stanley Kubrick's 1957 anti-war film is an outstanding achievement and the earliest masterpiece of a one of cinema's most important filmmakers; and Searchers 2.0 [DVD review] - a great movie from Alex Cox never underdone by its limited budget.
Other new releases of note include: Kisses [DVD review], Wild Grass [DVD review], and Psychomania [DVD review].
