Recent Reviews: The Man From Laramie, Picnic at Hanging Rock, and All That Heaven Allows
This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked.
Recent DVD reviews include: The Man From Laramie - a masterful conclusion to a run of five "psychological" Westerns starring James Stewart and directed by Anthony Mann; Picnic at Hanging Rock - Peter Weir's landmark film casts quite a spell with beautiful slow-motion sequences, a hazy summer backdrop and haunting music cues; and All That Heaven Allows - one of the best films of the 1950s, Douglas Sirk's movie is a slyly subversive romantic melodrama with a lot to say about the American middle-class.
Other recent reviews include: Hide and Seek, Monogram Cowboy Collection, Volume 8, and Child's Pose. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
