Transformers: Age of Extinction Planning a trip to the local multiplex this weekend? Here are DVD Talk's reviews of the latest theatrical releases: Transformers: Age of Extinction - an entertaining action flick that will satisfy those who know what to expect from a Michael Bay film... it is loud and ridiculous, but it wears the titles with pride; Snowpiercer - the film is undeniably entertaining and it has a strong use of drastic tonal changes that make for an intriguing cinema experience; and Chef - Jon Favreau and L.A. food truck guru Roy Choi bring real world cooking to the big screen. Other recent films include: 22 Jump Street, How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Signal, Edge of Tomorrow, The Fault in Our Stars, Maleficent, Night Moves, A Million Ways to Die in the West, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, Neighbors, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, , Locke, Transcendence, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and, Muppets Most Wanted.. Tosh.0: Collas Plus Exposed Arms Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include: Tosh.0: Collas Plus Exposed Arms - Comedy Central's biggest hit in recent years, this show features wise-ass stand-up comic Daniel Tosh, as he presents a variety of internet videos, offering jokes, and participating in sketches; Resurrection: Season 1 - a show that examines what it might be like if our dearly-departed "rose again" and returned home; and Petits Meurtres D'Agatha Christie - Set 1 - an inventive and quality French program that adapts the works of Agatha Christie in a way that has not really be done before... fans of her famous mysteries will find a lot to appreciate here. Other shows recently reviewed include:  Maverick: The Complete Fifth Season, Date A Live: Complete Series, and Cimarron Strip: The Complete Series.  Want more?  Check out all of the TV on DVD reviews in the DVD Talk database.

DVD Savant: All That Heaven Allows, What Price Hollywood?, and Crack-Up
All That Heaven Allows This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: All That Heaven Allows - Douglas Sirk does his stylistic overkill job on a straight soap opera about a lonely widow (Jane Wyman) who dares -- dares, I tell you -- fall in love with a younger man (Rock Hudson); What Price Hollywood? - This proto- trial run for A Star is Born hasn't molded the story and character elements into a full-on glamorous, romantic mold, but it's a much more interesting (and less phony) snapshot of the Hollywood scene; and Crack-Up - This utterly forgotten Fox picture stars Peter Lorre in a half-comic, half-menacing role as a mentally-impaired airport 'mascot' who in reality masterminds a network of vicious international spies. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

This Week's Notable Releases: A Hard Day's Night, Star Trek: TNG, and Wolf Creek 2
A Hard Day's Night Some pretty cool discs are being released this week. Check out these new titles:A Hard Day's Night [review] - a timeless burst of energy in cinematic form, delivering fun in both the comedy and the Beatles' music; Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Six [review] - this is an essential release featuring another jaw-dropping, frame-by-frame reconstruction of all 26 episodes and a wealth of new and archived extras; and Wolf Creek 2 [review] - with its manic pace and a preference for blood-spattered action over slow-burning sadism, this sequel eviscerates every last complaint about the original. Other reviews of note include I Spy: The Complete Series [review], Comedy Bang! Bang! Season 2 [review], and Star Trek: The Next Generation - Chain of Command [review]. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

Recent Reviews: The Lady From Shanghai, Ebirah, and Gobots
The Lady From Shanghai Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD Talk Review Database recently including: The Lady From Shanghai - this new release from TCM (put out with no fanfare) is an improvement over the version of the disc they released in January; Ebirah Horror of the Deep - one of the sillier entries in the Godzilla canon but its weirdness works in its favor; and Challenge of the Gobots: The Series - Volume 1 -a fun, entertaining children's program from Hanna-Barbera which mixed action, adventure, and comedy in equal measure. Other recent reviews include: The Missing Picture, Too Tough To Kill, and Omar.  Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
