Recent Reviews: The Road to Hong Kong, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, and Middle of Nowhere
This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked.
Recent reviews include:
The Road to Hong Kong - Great fun, and much better than its reputation, this film is loaded with laughs and looks great on Blu-ray; The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant: Criterion Collection - a lonely, manipulative fashion designer has locked herself away and, by doing so, draws others into her orbit of despair... a most colorful and intimate portrait of heartbreak and self-immolation; and The World Made Straight - a coming-of-age drama set during the Civil War and rumination on Southern tradition, this film is buoyed by strong direction and performances from its key cast, with country singer Steve Earle stealing the show.
Other recent reviews include: Force Majeure, Demon's Rook, and Nas: Time is Illmatic. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
