Recent Reviews: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, The Babadook, and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked. Recent DVD reviews include: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies - a fine conclusion to Jackson's saga for serious Middle Earth fans, especially given that the Blu-ray features quality video and audio as well as an enjoyable selection of supplements; The Babadook - one of 2014's best horror films featuring an insidiously terrifying idea by writer / director Jennifer Kent and a spectacular lead performance in Essie Davis... it's a terrifying and unique movie; and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot - an entertaining road trip with great performances from Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges, and the supporting cast, while the film's "anything goes" attitude maintains a broad and lasting appeal for new and seasoned fans alike. Other recent reviews include: The Way He Looks, The Pete Walker Collection: Volume 2, and White Buffalo.  Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
