Recent Reviews: Cries and Whispers, Imitation of Life, and Our Mother's House
Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD
Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include:
Cries and Whispers: Criterion Collection - this Ingmar Bergman film is a powerful piece of work, with incredibly intense performances and a hypnotic visual approach, that makes it a must-see; Imitation of Life - 2-Movie Collection - containing the 1934 and the 1959 versions of the movie, both are engrossing, entertaining films, and the transfers are impressive; and Our Mother's House - an excellent, quietly suspenseful drama, splendidly realized by its main child actors and a rakish Dirk Bogarde.
Other recent reviews include: Eclipse series 42: Silent Ozu - Three Crime Dramas, Where the Spies Are, and Mark of the Devil. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
