New Reviews: Kiss of Death, The Delinquents, and Ride The High Country
Some cool discs have been reviewed over the past week. Check out these recent entries:
Kiss of Death (1947) - a great new restoration of a film noir classic... Richard Widmark's gleeful psychopath is iconic and unforgettable, while Victor Mature's soulful lead performance proves he was more than just a handsome beefcake; The Delinquents - director Robert Altman’s first feature istechnically proficient, mostly well-acted, and definitely not the exploitation "B" its title and lurid advertising suggests; and Ride The High Country - an early gem by a director Sam Peckinpah, this film is a solid Western with terrific performances, very little fat, and a memorable score by George Bassman.
