New Reviews: The Scar, Vitaphone Varieties, and The Founder
The Scar Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD Talk Review Database recently including: The Scar - a solid noir thriller aided by a strong cast and some absolutely gorgeous cinematography… the film offers Paul Henreid a chance to play a noticeably darker role than most will associate with him but he does it very well while Joan Bennett steals almost every scene she's in; Vitaphone Varieties Volume Three - there is a lot to like in this collection of shorts from the early days of sound: quality music, oddball novelty acts, and everything in between; and The Founder - this biopic on Ray Kroc, a key figure behind the rise of the McDonald's franchise, is a story about friendships and collaborations that break, sometimes in the face of national and international successes. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
