New Reviews: Buena Vista Social Club, Tampopo, and Broken Arrow
This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked. Recent reviews include:
Buena Vista Social Club - Wim Wenders and Ry Cooder bring together legendary Cuban musicians for this interesting and engaging documentary; Tampopo - The Criterion Collection - an odd, invigorating delight that basks in the beauty of life through a passion for food… It is unique and wonderful, and any cinephile should seek it out immediately; and Broken Arrow - one of two Westerns starring James Stewart released in 1950 that reshaped the entire genre… rightly praised for years for being among the first big studio films to portray Indians sympathetically.
