Here are DVD Talk's recent theatrical reviews: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 [a 2nd review] - a wild ride from beginning to end that won't be forgotten or underappreciated when the dust settles; and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword - an exciting action-adventure film featuring great special effects, a fun cast, and ultra-fast direction by one of the maestros of the style, Guy Ritchie. Other recent films include: Logan, Kong: Skull Island, Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Split.. Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.

Notable Releases: Saturday Night Fever, Heat, and The Loved One
Saturday Night Fever There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Saturday Night Fever - the movie holds up well… a genuinely solid film that mixes the fun inherent in the disco sequences with some honestly believable human drama; Heat - with its hauntingly cold cinematography, moody score, terrific performances, and let's not forget the mother of all shootouts in its center, this film more than likely represents the peak of director Michael Mann’s career; and The Loved One - this has all the dark and unusual elements to be a cult classic… intriguing, with several wonderfully weird performances, and should appeal to fans of films like Dr. Strangelove and The Ruling Class. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: Buena Vista Social Club, Tampopo, and Broken Arrow
Buena Vista Social Club This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked. Recent reviews include: Buena Vista Social Club - Wim Wenders and Ry Cooder bring together legendary Cuban musicians for this interesting and engaging documentary; Tampopo - The Criterion Collection - an odd, invigorating delight that basks in the beauty of life through a passion for food… It is unique and wonderful, and any cinephile should seek it out immediately; and Broken Arrow - one of two Westerns starring James Stewart released in 1950 that reshaped the entire genre… rightly praised for years for being among the first big studio films to portray Indians sympathetically.
