There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Saturday Night Fever - the movie holds up well… a genuinely solid film that mixes the fun inherent in the disco sequences with some honestly believable human drama; Heat - with its hauntingly cold cinematography, moody score, terrific performances, and let's not forget the mother of all shootouts in its center, this film more than likely represents the peak of director Michael Mann’s career; and The Loved One - this has all the dark and unusual elements to be a cult classic… intriguing, with several wonderfully weird performances, and should appeal to fans of films like Dr. Strangelove and The Ruling Class.
