There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Whisper of the Heart - beautifully directed and animated this is one of the Studio Ghibli’s most down-to-Earth films but supremely effective through its portrayal of great characters unsure of their place in a realistic world; Judgment at Nuremberg - the best of Stanley Kramer’s films, this war crimes courtroom drama addresses such issues as global culpability for Hitler's rise to power, while drawing parallels to American judicial compromises during the early days of the Cold War in the name of political expediency; and Young Mr. Lincoln: Criterion Collection - far from John Ford's best film, it is still a very enjoyable production that can be appreciated on its own terms.
