TV Reviews: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Executioner's Song, and the 2017 World Series Film
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: The Complete First Season Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: The Complete First Season - this show is certainly not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're in the target audience (folks who dig dark musical comedy about the love lives of the mental ill) this show is going to scratch that itch so hard; The Executioner's Song - this made-for-TV film offers a capable but unsettling portrait of Gary Gilmore's infamous 1976 double murder and the execution he wished upon himself months later; and Major League Baseball: 2017 World Series Film - it's nice to revisit the Houston Astros' World Series win, and the film on the series dispenses with any frills and tells the story and allows the viewer to glean the effective narrative and emotional moments. Notable Releases: Whisper of the Heart, Judgment at Nuremberg, and Young Mr. Lincoln
Whisper of the Heart There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Whisper of the Heart - beautifully directed and animated this is one of the Studio Ghibli’s most down-to-Earth films but supremely effective through its portrayal of great characters unsure of their place in a realistic world; Judgment at Nuremberg - the best of Stanley Kramer’s films, this war crimes courtroom drama addresses such issues as global culpability for Hitler's rise to power, while drawing parallels to American judicial compromises during the early days of the Cold War in the name of political expediency; and Young Mr. Lincoln: Criterion Collection - far from John Ford's best film, it is still a very enjoyable production that can be appreciated on its own terms. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: Men in Black Trilogy, Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle, and Stay Hungry
Men in Black Trilogy: 20th Anniversary 4K Edition Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include: Men in Black Trilogy: 20th Anniversary 4K Edition - the Men in Black Trilogy survives on the strength of its original film and the chemistry between lead actors Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith; Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle - a franchise that tries to get everything done in its second installment and for the most part falls short of it, but technically it's a peach and the making-of is worth a check out alone; and Stay Hungry - the kind of oddball, character-driven gem that could have only been made by Hollywood in the 1970s. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
