DVD Talk Interview: Fraily Writer Brent Hanley
DVDTalk writer Phillip Duncan was lucky enough recently to chat with screenwriter Brent Hanley about his screenplay for the Bill Paxton directed film Frailty. An interesting interview, Hanley has opinions on everything from the state of horror films to the studio system in Hollywood. Seemingly bitten by the directing bug himself, he reveals a little about his next screenplay and what he hopes to be his directorial debut. Honest and opinionated with an obvious love for film. Read the DVD Talk Interview with Brent Hanley

My Neighbor Totoro - Disappointing Specs
With Spirited Away off to a great start theatrically there are rumors that Buena Vista Home Video (which owns the US rights to many of Hayao Miyazaki's films) are prepping DVD releases for Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky for 2003. Also we got word that Fox is going to be bringing the one Hayao Miyazaki movie they have rights to My Neighbor Totoro to DVD on December 3rd. Unfortunately the Fox DVD is only going to be pan & scan with only a 2.0 Dolby Surround English dub (not the original track). This is bad news for Miyazaki as Totoro is a classic. If you DO have a Region Free DVD player like the Malata then there is a great Region 3 Release for My Neighbor Totoro which is letterbox and has the 5.1 Japanese audio Track. It's very disappointing that Fox isn't giving My Neighbor Totoro a better release.
