DVD Talk Review Roundup
Here's a round up of some of the recent top DVDs in the DVD Talk Review Database: The Last Samurai - a solid example of how films should be treated on DVD, both old and new, Ghosts of the Abyss - a unique cinematic achievement, but its strengths were more evident on the big screen, The Ladykillers - every bit as entertaining a film as one could imagine , Haunted Mansion - a cliched haunted house picture that's not very funny and lacks chills or thrills, Paul McCartney - The Music & Animation Collection - the short Tuesday is an absolute masterpiece and all by its lonesome justifies the purchase of this disc, Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! - a likable movie with some very good performances and a few hilarious moments throughout, Step Into Liquid - an entertaining view into the surfing community and Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street - the quality of the production does exceed the limitations of the transfer and soundtrack. Read reviews for all these and over 8,000 other DVDs in The DVD Talk Review Database.

This Week's Notable DVDs (4/20-4/27)
An interesting mix of notable DVDs this week, including Master And Commander: The Far Side of the World [Review] - Peter Weir's epic look at battle on the high seas is given an epic treatment on DVD, possibly one of the best so far this year. From sailing the high seas to riding them Step Into Liquid [Review] is an amazing look at the sport of surfing. "There's No Crying In Baseball" - yes but those are tears of joy over A League of Their Own [Review] a fantastic DVD for a great movie. The Office: Season 2 [Review] might elicit tears of another kind - laughter, and it's one of the funniest BBC shows we've seen in a long time. Finally this week is the Unrated re-release version of Wild Things: Unrated [Review] which both adds and drops items from previous releases and Wild Things 2 [Review] - the Direct-to-DVD release sequel that can't quite live up to the fun of the first. Read our Complete List of Upcoming DVDs for more great DVDs out this week, and visit our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews.
