Get Lost with DVD Talk
On September 6, one of the biggest TV-on-DVD releases of the year hits shelves with Lost - The Complete First Season. In preparation for the release, Buena Vista Home Entertainment threw a jungle extravaganza like no other on Oahu's North Shore, and DVD Talk Reviewer das Monkey was on site to capture every moment. Check out various shooting locations from the island, see the stars on the red carpet, and listen to over 90 minutes of insight and analysis from the entire cast (plus creator Damon Lindelof) in his comprehensive report and photo gallery. Just don't ask Terry O'Quinn, "What's in the hatch?". Also be sure to read our complete Review of the Lost: Season One DVD

Silent DVD: The SlapHappy Collection
This month Silent DVD has an in depth look at the SlapHappy series as well as the latest news on some upcoming releases. SlapHappy gives an excellent overview of silent comedies and comedians. Not only do they cover the big names from the era, Chaplin, Keaton, and Lloyd, but they also feature a large number of talented comics who are now all but forgotten. Lupino Lane, Larry Semon, Max Linder, Lloyd Hamilton and Snub Pollard are only some of the comics that are covered in the show. There is an overview of the entire series with links to full reviews of all ten volumes, and an interview with Larry Stefan, the producer, writer, and pretty much the driving force behind the series. Speaking of slapstick comedy, The Harold Lloyd Comedy Collection is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas. We have cover art as well as a list of films that are going to be included in this long awaited set. We also have some news on the second wave in Kino's Slapstick Symposium series and information on a pair of Maurice Tourneur films. Read about all this and more in this month's Silent DVD.
