New Movie Reviews: Ghost Rider, Bridge to Terabithia, and Breach
It's a shame that Ghost Rider has gotten beaten up by nearly every critic in the country. Nicolas Cage has been trying to get this film finished and released for a few years now, but it looks as though all the time didn't exactly pay off. You, however, can judge for yourself as Ghost Rider burns its way into theaters this weekend. Also in theaters this week is Bridge to Terabithia - the endearing animated film about two new friends who find themselves deemed king and queen of a magical kingdom in the forest; Breach - Billy Ray follows up Shattered Glass with this FBI film sporting a stellar cast of Chris Cooper, Ryan Phillippe, and Dennis Haysbert; and Music and Lyrics - Ah...another romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant...ho hum. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: An Unreasonable Man, Daddy's Little Girls, Factory Girl, Hannibal Rising, Norbit, The Messengers, Because I Said So, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.

TV on DVD Reviews: Doctor Who S2, Reno 911 and Teen Titans
A number of notable TV on DVD releases reviewed recently including: Doctor Who - The Complete Second Series - one of the best science fiction series on television right now, and for that matter as good as anything in any genre; Reno 911!: Reno's Most Wanted -- Uncensored - a good representation of the hilarious Comedy Central series, and would make a nice gift for someone who's never seen the show; Teen Titans - Trouble in Tokyo - an extended edition of the television show has the same enjoyable blend of humor and action that makes that series popular; The Hills - The Complete First Season - an intriguing drama that you will either love or hate...it is overly melodramatic, but it works; The L-Word - The Complete Third Season - another enjoyable chapter in the addictive saga of Bette, Tina, Alice, Shane, Jenny, Dana and the rest of the West Hollywood gang. DVD Savant: Kill Baby Kill, 49th Parallel and A Summer Place
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: 49th Parallel - Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger joined forces at the beginning of WW2 on this propaganda thriller designed to pull America into the war; A Summer Place - Delmer Daves goes soft 'n' fuzzy on the teen pregnancy drama; Council of the Gods - This 1950 East German propaganda film claims that criminal industrialists in league with American oil executives profited mightily from WW2, and after the defeat became the 'corrupt' basis of Democratic West Germany; Kill, Baby ... Kill! - Dark Sky favors us with a visually striking version of Mario Bava's gothic shocker about evil afoot in a haunted Italian hill town; Neither the Sea nor the Sand - Susan Hampshire can't let go of the love of her life, even after he falls stone cold dead; The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales - A wickedly funny black comedy from the Mexican collaborators of Luis Bunuel. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

This Week's Notable DVDs: The Departed, Half Nelson and Marie Antoinette
A strong week for notable DVDs including: The Departed [Review] - Bold, complex and visceral, Martin Scorsese's The Departed is one of the acclaimed director's most engaging films of the past 20 years; Half Nelson [Review] - with fully realized characters and the ability to surprise and challenge audience expectations, Half Nelson can be a devastating experience; Marie Antoinette [Review] - Sofia Coppola's personal journey through the life of one of history's most complex characters only rewards closer scrutiny; Infamous [Review] - stands as its own singular work, but when combined with the 2005 film, it's the last link in our understanding of a man who made his living walking the fine line between art and artifice. Other notable DVDs out this week include: 13 Tzameti, Infernal Affairs Box Set, Mutual Appreciation [Review], The Quiet [Review], Us Vs John Lennon, Wild Camp

Clip of The Week: Wild Camp
This week we have a look at Lifesize Entainment's DVD release of Wild Camp. A tranquil campground in rural France is the background for this erotic sizzler between bored, beautiful teenager Camille, and a down on his luck ex con, Blaise. Fresh out of prison, Blaise accepts a job as sailing instructor at the camp run by his brother in law, Eddie. Haunted by violent nightmares, scorned by the other campers, Blaise tries mightily to resist Camille's charms. But the girl's spontaneity and nubile sexuality awaken Blaise's own repressed capacity for life. It's not long before this odd couple forge an erotic liaison that leads to deadly consequences for all concerned. Take a peek at Wild Camp - this week's clip of the week.
