DVDTalk Interview: Inside Shin Chan's Massive Head
Shin Chan The bridge between the comedy and anime halves of the [adult swim] line-up, "Shin Chan" blends an anime look with very American comedy to create a unique series for the nighttime TV destination. Jared Hedges, Joel Bergen and Alex Muniz are the twisted minds who write the English langage scripts for the originally Japanese show about an unusual six-year-old with an unusual family. With a second season of the series starting on [adult swim] and new DVDs hitting stores in May, the guys made an appearance at the New York ComicCon in April to promote the series, and spent a moment with Francis Rizzo III to talk about how they make a "Shin Chan" episode. Read the entire interview here

DVD Savant: Saludos Amigos / Three Caballeros and Dangerous Crossing
Saludos Amigos / The Three Caballeros This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Saludos Amigos / Three Caballeros - Disney pairs its two remarkable, tuneful WW2 "Good Neighbor Policy" animated classics in an economical bundle, but certain censorship issues remain unremedied, to put it mildly. Talking Yankee dogs can't smoke, as it's not a good lesson for the kiddies. But a Brazilian parrot can puff away ... at least in one of the features; Dangerous Crossing - Fox Film Noir reaches way down into the sack, and comes up with a thriller for fans of Jeanne Crain. A new husband disappears on the first day of an ocean voyage. Is some conspiracy afoot, or is the new bride just off her rocker? Also, don't miss his discussion of Joe Dante and Jon Davison's The Movie Orgy, a wild theatrical show that resurrects the once-in-a-lifetime, blink-and-you'll-miss-it fun of cult moviegoing. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
