TV on DVD: Young Justice, Getting On, and Girls
Young Justice: Season 1 Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include: Young Justice: Season 1 - The show is chock full of excellently developed characters, terrific animation, fluid action sequences and the series has a wonderful story that is built up extremely well throughout the 26 episodes; Getting On: The Complete First Season - a good show with a strong atmosphere and a great cast, and there's a sense that the writers are really hitting their stride just as the first season draws to a close; and Girls: The Complete Third Season - a program that is consistently funny, smart, awkward, touching, relatable, frustrating, and, above all, entertaining. Other shows recently reviewed include:  ThunderCats: The Complete Series, Fairy Tail: Part 14, and Mind Games: The Complete First Season.  Want more?  Check out all of the TV on DVD reviews in the DVD Talk database.

DVD Savant: 52 Pick-Up, The Night Porter, and Bloody Sunday
52 Pick-Up This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: 52 Pick-Up - Powerhouse director John Frankenheimer takes on Elmore Leonard's dark, dark tale of a philandering businessman (Roy Scheider) blackmailed by sleazy crooks from the porn industry; The Night Porter - It sounds like 'Nazista' trash -- an ex-concentration camp victim re-ignites an insane sadomasochistic relationship with her former captor, a sadistic SS officer -- but it's actually a reasoned examination of the sexual politics of Fascism done with class and taste; and Bloody Sunday - Before his Hollywood success writer-director Paul Greenglass took the big prize at Sundance with this convincing, compelling docudrama recreation of the 1972 Bloody Sunday Massacre in Derry, Northern Ireland. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

Recent Reviews: Heaven & Earth, Dark Mountain, and The Black Scorpion
Heaven & Earth Some cool discs have been reviewed over the past week. Check out these recent entries: Heaven & Earth - a powerful film with an important message about the ways in which the war in Vietnam affected those it touched... one of the most effective films in director Oliver Stone's filmograph; Dark Mountain - even if it's not breaking new ground, this film is a lot of fun... it's sneaky and creepy and cool; and The Black Scorpion - a mid-grade sci-fi thriller, this movie was previously and incorrectly released 4:3 standard format but now, at last, it has been in 16:9 enhanced widescreen preserving its original aspect ratio. Other recent reviews include: My Little Pony: The Movie, Dinosaur 13, and The Man with Two Brains.  Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
