TV on DVD: Key & Peele, Lou Grant, and Blaze and the Monster Machines
Key & Peele: The Complete Series Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include: Key & Peele: The Complete Series - full of hilarious bits covering everything from big concepts like race relations to daily minutia like pushing the crosswalk button, the stars had the range to do just about anything and do it well which prevents the show from getting stale over the span of 53 episodes; Lou Grant: The Complete First Season - though a bit dated in the journalistic evolution sense, unlike most ‘70s dramas this show is as riveting as today's best dramas; and Blaze and the Monster Machines: Fired Up - another fine collection of above-average kids' entertainment, this disc serves up plenty of action, adventure, and excitement aimed at single-digit scamps. This Week's Notable Releases: Hardcore Henry, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, and Pioneers of African American Cinema
Hardcore Henry Several great movies and programs have come out recently, including a few that shouldn't be missed: Hardcore Henry - a movie that plays like a combination of the videogame Half-Life mixed in with a pinch of RoboCop... all within a beautiful, chaotic snow globe of a Russian dash cam video; The Boy Who Cried Werewolf - a briskly paced feature that has languished in obscurity for years now, the movie turns out to be a lot of fun thanks primarily to some great ‘old fashioned' style transformation effects; and Pioneers of African American Cinema - this massive 5-disc, set running over 21 hours total does a magnificent job presenting a nearly forgotten chapter in film history as well as African-American culture. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Belladonna of Sadness, and Cat In The Brain
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - an entertaining and ambitious animated production that hits all the right notes... a must-see film for any anime fan; Belladonna of Sadness - a visually intensive film, like a lot of great art, this animated feature can be challenging at times but it is a beautifully made film ripe for rediscovery; and Cat In The Brain - this film from Il Maestro Lucio Fulci ia a blood-filled nightmare unmoored from the likes of logic, it's a hell of a lot of nasty fun. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
