TV on DVD: Knight Rider, The Flash, and Phobe: The Xenophobic Experiments
Knight Rider - The Complete Series (Blu-ray) Some great TV shows have made their way onto home video recently including: : Knight Rider - The Complete Series (Blu-ray) - this show is a lot of fun... it's goofy, but it's definitely entertaining and while the set is completely devoid of extras and it utilizes lossy audio, overall the transfers are a pretty decent improvement over the past DVD editions; The Flash: Season 2 - this second season offers a healthy balance of action, drama, humor, and emotion... it works on every level; and Phobe: The Xenophobic Experiments - this cult classic is the real deal: an inspired, memorable, and most of all authentic piece of Canadian DIY goodness. Recent Notable Releases: Star Trek Beyond, Burial Ground, and Night of the Grizzly
Star Trek Beyond There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store. Check out these recent releases: Star Trek Beyond - despite ditching intellect for non-stop action, the spectacle is so constant and over-the-top, that it's a fun ride that makes up for the film's lack of fresh ideas; Burial Ground - fat-packed with ghouls of every possible flavor, it's eightysomething minutes of nonstop zombie carnage, and it's so completely off the rails that you just can't turn away; and Night of the Grizzly - popular during the 1970s as a family staple, this "family film with teeth" serves up a mix of comedy, drama, and action that hasn't so much aged well as remained frozen in time.
