TV on DVD: The Defenders, Drunk History, and Sabrina Down Under
Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include:
The Defenders: Season 1 - starring E.G. Marshall and Robert Reed as a father-son team of defense attorneys, this show displays the intelligence and idealism of the best early television drama, even though it hit the airwaves in 1961; Drunk History: Season Four - the program hasn't lost any steam… the result is a show that gets plenty of laughs, but which will let you learn something you didn't already know; and Sabrina Down Under - based on the TV show from the 90’s, this 1999 made-for-TV movie is a tale of witches and mermen from the sea… it tries to liven things up by including an ecological message and some intrigue but it’s largely a misfire.

Notable Releases: Being There, Teen Witch, and Cinema Paradiso
Some pretty cool discs are being released this week. Check out these new titles:
Being There: Criterion Collection - a professional highlight for director Hal Ashby and star Peter this film remains relevant and entertaining almost 40 years later; Teen Witch - a fun, silly, nonsensical teen comedy/romance featuring a non-bombshell female lead that seems almost quaint today; and Cinema Paradiso - one of those movies that every film lover should see at least one time… many will fall in love with it.
