Dunkirk Before you head off to the cinema this weekend, check out DVD Talk's reviews of the latest releases including: Dunkirk [a 2nd review] - a breathtaking and nerve-wracking experience that never lets go of our nerves from the first frame to the last... one of the very best movies of the year; Spider-Man: Homecoming - this unique partnership between Sony and Marvel Studios finally gets the character completely and utterly right; and The Beguiled - Sofia Coppola's latest film takes place in a southern girls' school during the later stages of the Civil War where one the younger students stumbles into a northern Union soldier. Other recent films include: Baby Driver, Wonder Woman , Cars 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Logan. Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.

Recent 4K UHD Reviews: Ex Machina, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and Dredd
Ex Machina So you've upgraded to the latest technology and have a 4K UHD system... but what discs should you buy? Let our reviews help you choose with our latest 4K reviews: Ex Machina - Alex Garland's directorial debut is thought-provoking and exciting, with excellent performances from the principal cast; Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes - one of the few Hollywood sequels that is superior to the movie that came before it, this movie succeeds by providing us characters (both ape and human alike) who are well-rounded and interesting to watch; and Dredd (2012) - exciting and impressively lensed, Dredd is a great update to the material and a strong, modern action film. Notable Releases: Stalker, The Hunting Party, and Star Crystal
Stalker: Criterion Collection Some great discs have been released in the last couple of weeks. Check out these new movies and shows: Stalker: Criterion Collection - Andrei Tarkovsky's 1979 masterpiece is beautifully shot and visually hypnotic… the kind of film that can really transfix viewers; The Hunting Party - a rough and gritty western that focuses on the dark side of frontier life... it isn't a pretty film but it is very well acted and quite gripping; and Star Crystal - poorly made and riddled with mistakes and bad acting, those who enjoy low budget monster movies, particularly those with an affinity for sci-fi settings and cheap effects, just might have a good time with it. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New Reviews: The Zookeeper's Wife, The Bridge at Remagen, and Curse of the Pink Panther
The Zookeeper's Wife Check out the latest reviews that have been entered into the DVD Talk Review Database including: The Zookeeper's Wife - based on the book by the same name, this movie tells the true story of the Zabinski family, their zoo, and their heroic acts during the Nazi occupation of Warsaw, Poland during WWII; The Bridge at Remagen - partly this film is a big-scale epic, partly it's a more cynical, more intimate look at the human cost of warfare and it ends up being above average; and Curse of the Pink Panther - an honest attempt to continue the franchise after Peter Seller’s death, the movie doesn’t work because Blake Edwards and company can't seem to extract themselves from the shadow of Sellers' Inspector Clouseau. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
