TV on DVD: Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In and Bones
Some great TV shows have made their way onto home video recently including:
Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In: The Complete Series - the frenetic, chaotic comedy still earns laughs 50 years later… while there's a lot that hasn't aged well, including the stereotype jokes and many of the song and dance numbers, it's a wonderful time capsule of the era; and Bones: The Complete Series - a very solid and decent mystery … though there are some flaws, the program gets better as it goes and the characters are quite enjoyable.

Notable Releases: T2 Trainspotting, Madhouse, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Several great movies and programs have come out recently, including a few that shouldn't be missed:
T2 Trainspotting - smart, funny, and stylish, this is a great movie worthy of standing next to Trainspotting on a film fan's shelf; Madhouse - filmed stylishly with a smattering of shocking gore elements, Euro-horror completists will enjoy having a good-looking copy of this movie to enjoy on a late night; and Rise of the Planet of the Apes (4K) - a pleasant surprise when it hit theaters back in 2011, this film still holds up as one of the few reboots that doesn't dishonor the original movie upon which it is based.

New Reviews: Before I Fall, Commodore Wars, and Dheepan
Some cool discs have been reviewed over the past week. Check out these recent entries:
Before I Fall - this movie offers an interesting, slightly more depressing, take on Groundhog Day as its heroine re-lives the final hours of her life to discover how her behavior affects others; 8 Bit Generation: Commodore Wars - a documentary chronicling the rise of Commodore computers, told through interviews with the people who were there… it tells the story in a rather jumbled manner but if you are interested in early computing this is well worth a look; and Dheepan - an excellent film that tells an important story and which explores a serious global issue.
