Notable Releases: Take the Money and Run, Kill, Baby... Kill, and The Lure
There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store this week. Check out these recent releases:
Take the Money and Run - the first film that Woody Allen directed, starred in, and wrote is good harmless fun; Kill, Baby... Kill - Mario Bava's movie holds up really well as a fine example of Italian gothic horror at its creepiest and most atmospheric; and The Lure - adapting The Little Mermaid into a dark, visually-experimental horror/musical, Agnieszka Smoczynska debut feature offers an intriguing viewing experience, even if foreign-language musicals lose a bit in translation.
